CMUG had its inception in May 1995, and was a tax-exempt, non-profit educational organization, open to all who wanted to learn about their Macintosh computers and iDevices. Unfortunately, 23 years later, we found ourselves in the unenviable position of having to dissolve CMUG on December 31, 2018.

Thanks to All Our Volunteers Who Worked Tirelessly Over the Years. With the dissolution of CMUG, we'd like to honor the volunteers who generously donated their time and energy to make CMUG such an amazing club. Over the years, there was a core group of folks who kept CMUG running. We'd like to acknowledge them here.

Several members from the CMUG-List Group have volunteered to continue offering combined Macintosh and iDevice HELP sessions on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church, 2540 Norvell Bryant Highway (Highway 486), in Lecanto, FL. Detailed directions can be found on the CMUG Venue page. Individual donations to the Church will be encouraged.

If you'd like to join the CMUG-List Group, please email the Forum Manager. Once you join, reminders and sign-up details for each month will be sent to the CMUG-list members via email blast. See the CMUG-List Google Group Forum page for more details.

Since its beginning — the 2003-04 school year, Citrus Macintosh Users Group Scholarship program had been open to graduating seniors from each of the three Citrus County public high schools; Academy of Environmental Sciences students compete with their home schools. Last year (2017-2018), 40 scholarships will have been awarded ranging from $500 to $2,000 each; the amount has varied with the number of qualified applicants and pool of money available.

Scholarships were awarded based on civic volunteerism and leadership, financial need, and academic achievement, with consideration for applicants' post-secondary goals.

Unfortunately, with the dissolution of CMUG on December 31, 2018, we will no longer be offering scholarships. Through its scholarship program, CMUG was proud to help support the efforts of worthy Citrus County students to pursue their continuing education goals and career objectives.
