CLASSES, MAC HELP, IDEVICE HELP, AND MEETINGS


CMUG offers a number of monthly activities in an effort to fulfill its mission to help all people in our area become familiar with Macintosh computers, software and Apple iDevices (iPads and iPhones). Registration is required for classes, Mac Help, and iDevice Help, as space is limited. Class fees have been eliminated for members, but remain at $20 for non-members. Mac and iDevice Help, and the monthly meeting are also FREE to MEMBERS. All CMUG activities are held at Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church, 2540 Norvell Bryant Highway (Highway 486), in Lecanto, FL. Detailed directions can be found on the CMUG Venue page. The current month's schedule is shown below, as well as the yearly calendar of CMUG activities.

Join CMUG If you'd like to become a new member of the Citrus Macintosh Users Group, please fill out the ONLINE MEMBERSHIP FORM (or use the optional PDF download), and submit using the PayPal Option. Annual dues are $20 for an individual, $30 for a family, and $10 for a student. The membership period begins on January 1st each year and dues are prorated for persons joining after July 1st. If you must pay by check, it should be made out to CMUG and mailed to CMUG, P.O. Box 587, Lecanto, FL 34460. If you are already a member and have no changes in your Membership information, you may simply renew your CMUG membership by submitting a payment via PayPal.

Computer/Application Problem Help and Tune-ups for Macintosh Computers. Bring your Macintosh computer for tune-up, or for help with software problems. Make sure that you bring all the necessary hardware to run your computer. The mouse and cables are frequently forgotten. Also, be sure to have your Apple ID and password and information pertinent to your particular issue.

If you are brand new to the Mac, a Mac Help appointment can start you on a good footing.

Although FREE to CMUG members, Registration is required. You must specify the area of concern to be covered in the session and a time slot will be negotiated The REASON you need to supply this information is so that the appropriate people can be present to help you and time is optimized.

iDevice Help

iPad and iPhone Instruction and Problem Help for iDevices Only. iDevice Help is FREE for club members, but of course, donations to the club are always welcome.

In addition to the usual Help Session, Mary Nesset will host a Special Interest Group (SIG) for those folks who use the iPad Pro. When you register, please indicate "SIG" if you are participating in that group.

Registration is required. You must specify the area of interest to be covered in iDevice Help. The REASON you need to supply this information is so that the appropriate people can be present to help you and your wait time is decreased. Also, be sure to have your Apple ID and password.

Apple Photos Class

This Apple Photos Class is for Macs and iDevices and will be taught by Mary Nesset.

Since our cameras are literally in our pockets these days, with most of us taking photos on our iPhones daily, our photo libraries are growing by leaps and bounds. You owe it to yourself to learn how to manage, save and share those beloved images. Do you want to master the "Photos" applications on your Mac or iOS devices? This is the class for you!

This class will show you how to organize, search, edit and share your digital images on your computer, iPhone or iPad. We will show you how many of the same Photos features are available, no matter whether you're on your trusty Mac at your desk, or sitting on the couch with your iPad.

Registration is required. Class fees have been eliminated for members, but remain at $20 for any interested non-member. Sign up early as classes are limited to 25 and registration ends at midnight prior to class date.

iDevice Class

This iDevice Class is for new users of iDevices (iPads and iPhones). The class will be conducted by Bob Suplee and CMUG members proficient in iDevice use and helpers to enhance the learning experience. It is a "getting started with the basics" class but can also serve as a great refresher and means of staying up to date. Even folks considering the purchase of an iDevice can benefit by previewing what can be accomplished. The recent update to iOS11 brings some changes you might not know about. Bring your iPads and iPhones and your curiosity. A minimum of 5 participants is requested.

CMUG General Membership Meeting

General Membership Meetings have been moved from Friday evenings to late Thursday afternoons (4:30pm). In addition to Q & A and general business items, a demo of Apple Mail's Advanced Features will be presented by Robert Rutledge.

The monthly meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. with an informal Question and Answer session, followed by a brief business session and the evening's program starting at 5:00 pm.
